Harry Styles unveiled a tender folk ballad, “Sweet Creature,” set to appear on his self-titled debut album, out May 12th. Over tumbling and sprightly guitar picking, Styles details the tumult and potency of young love, fleshing out his lead vocals with simple harmonies and startling background runs. He shows off his impressive range on the song’s final chorus, straining expertly to sing, “Sweet creature, sweet creature/ When I run out of rope, you bring me home.”
Styles wrote “Sweet Creature” with Thomas Hull – also known as Kid Harpoon – who produced the track as well with Jeff Bhasker, Alex Salibian and Tyler Johnson. The song marks the third offering from Harry Styles, following lead single “Sign of the Times” and “Ever Since New York,” which Styles debuted on Saturday Night Live.
Styles will embark on a North American tour this fall in support of his solo debut starting September 19th in San Francisco, California and wrapping October 14th in Phoenix, Arizona.
